Community Events

HHHRC was excited to recently participate in several community events that have taken place around the island. Participating in community events allows HHHRC to educate the public about the broad range of harm reduction-based services it offers.

On April 1, HHHRC participated in the Papakōlea ʻOhana Health Fair, which focused on addressing the overall health and well-being needs of Papakōlea, Kewalo, and Kalāwahine Hawaiian Homesteads.

Also, on April 1, HHHRC participated in the Hauʻula Community Association’s Hauʻula Hoʻolauleʻa. HHHRC holds the state Homeless Outreach contract for the Koʻolauloa region, which includes Hauʻula.

On April 18, HHHRC joined other LGBTQIA+ organizations at the Kapiʻolani Community College Student Congress' LGBTQ+ Tea Party. HHHRC has an extensive sexual health program that includes STI testing and treatment as well as HIV treatment and prevention. HHHRC also has the only transgender social service program on the island of ʻOahu. All of HHHRC's services come at no cost to clients.

On April 27, HHHRC participated in Starbucks Hawaiʻi's Coffee with a Cop program at their downtown location on Alakea Street. HHHRC was excited to share about upcoming programming and events, including the forthcoming Honolulu AIDS Walk happening Saturday, June 17.
