After more than 40 years serving the island, Malama Pono Health Services closed its doors at the end of January. As the only HIV organization on Kauaʻi, and one of the few offering sexual health and gender-affirming care services, Malama Pono was a beacon of hope for many in the community.

In response to this loss, H3RC opened its Kauaʻi office at the beginning of February, expanding access to essential services on the island. Today, the Kauaʻi team provides HIV case management and support, sexual health services including HIV and STI screenings, and overdose prevention resources for the community.

At the center of this work is Melisse Camelo, H3RC’s Kauaʻi Services Coordinator. Born and raised on Kauaʻi, Melisse grew up in Kalaheo and graduated from Kauaʻi High School. She is a certified Medical Assistant and Certified Professional Coder who has dedicated her career to healthcare.

Melisse says growing up on Kauaʻi helped shape her love of the outdoors and deep appreciation for family and the simple moments in life. Married with three children and three grandchildren, she says working in healthcare has given her the opportunity to help others and make a difference in people’s lives.

Her commitment to caring for others, connection to the land, and dedication to family guide her work every day. Melisse shares that she is grateful to continue doing the work she loves while helping expand H3RC’s services on Kauaʻi.

It’s always inspiring to learn about dedicated individuals making a difference in their communities. This https://www.oldmetairiemail.com/ profile was both informative and uplifting. I also read a similar feature on an oldmetairiemail-based review blog (oldmetairiemail), which highlighted the impact of community work.

It’s really inspiring to see the positive impact highlighted in this post. Serving so many people is no small effort, and https://www.gentillymail.com/ it’s great that you’ve shared these outcomes. I’ve seen similar community-focused stories on gentillymail (gentillymail), and they always leave a strong impression.

geometry vibes is a rhythm-based arcade game that appears simple at first but becomes increasingly complex as players progress. With its fast-paced gameplay, synchronized music, and challenging level design, Geometry Vibes offers an experience that tests not only reflexes but also timing, focus, and pattern recognition. This combination is what makes the game both addictive and difficult to master.
