Meet Young Woo

HHHRC’s Kakaako office recently welcomed Young Woo as its Hospitality Greeter & Security Peer. He most recently worked with Dr. Christina Wang and her street medicine team as a peer support worker. Young replaces Michael Salek, who became an outreach worker with our syringe exchange program.

“Young instantly connected with our patients and he once helped save a life! One day on outreach we witnessed a man have a seizure and fall backwards off the River Street wall into the water. Young dove in and pulled the man from the water so I could perform CPR and the other team members called 911. The man did go to the intensive care unit but survived. It’s a pleasure to have Young as a part of the H3RC team!,” said Dr. Wang.
